Summer’s here, and this frozen treat is great for hot days.
With strawberries in season, there is no better time to use their jam for a delicious and simple frozen dessert! Making ice cream from scratch can seem like a daunting task, but with this recipe, it can be accomplished with just four ingredients and ten minutes of your time. Credits to Tieghan Gerard for coming up with this fun and easy method!
Ingredients (12 servings):
3 cups heavy cream
1¾ cups strawberry jam (larger portion)
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp flaky sea salt
¾ cups strawberry jam (smaller portion)
Instructions:
- Pour cream, larger portion of jam, vanilla, and salt into mixing bowl
- Whip with an electric mixer until soft peaks form
- Fold in the smaller portion of jam
- Transfer to a 9 by 5 inch loaf pan, cover and freeze for 6 hours
- Let sit at room temperature for 5 minutes, then enjoy!
