These decadent cookies will make great presents to loved ones on Valentines Day.
Ingredients (1 batch):
1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
½ cup (or 8 tbsp) softened unsalted butter
¾ cup packed brown sugar
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 tbsp milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
¾ tsp red food coloring
1 ¼ cup white chocolate chips (save some to place on top!)
Instructions:
- Mix together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- Using a mixer, with a paddle attachment, beat together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy (creaming method!). Add the egg and vanilla into the mixture until well combined.
- Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, add the milk and food coloring, mix together until everything is combined. If the color isn’t to your liking, add a tad bit more! Add the chocolate chips then cover and chill in the fridge for an hour. (if you don’t refrigerate, then it won’t spread!)
- Preheat the oven to 350℉. Scoop up the dough to roughly the size of a golf ball. Add the extra chocolate on top. Make sure to evenly distribute the dough on the sheet pan, about 3 inches apart.
- Bake for 12-13 minutes, then let it cool down for another 5 minutes and enjoy!
