As 2024 comes to a close, so does another year of musical greatness. With many artists having exceptional contributions to the music industry this year, fans frenzy to secure tickets to their favorite artist’s concerts. To celebrate such a joyous year, a couple of landmark tours of 2024 have been highlighted.
Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour:
Billie Eilish debuted her album Hit Me Hard and Soft on May 17th, 2024, and it immediately became a fan favorite. Containing hit songs “BIRDS OF A FEATHER” and “WILDFLOWER,” fans from Europe, North America, and Oceania were desperate to snatch up tickets to Eilish’s sought-after tour. The Hit Me Hard and Soft tour began in Quebec City on September 29th, 2024 and continued traveling around the United States and Canada, with the North American leg of the tour scheduled to end on December 24th, 2024. In February, Eilish will visit sixteen countries across Europe and Oceania to begin the international portion of the famed tour, which will continue until July 2025.
Gracie Abrams’ The Secret of Us Tour:
After releasing her new hit album The Secret of Us on June 21st, 2024, Gracie Abrams began her The Secret of Us Tour on September 5th, 2024. Previously, Abrams had been an opener for Taylor Swift in the famous Eras Tour, gaining popularity as she simultaneously released music of her own. The Secret of Us Tour began in Portland, Oregon, moving around much of the US, before Abrams headed to Europe and Oceania to continue the tour. As of right now, the tour is set to finish on May 17th, 2025 in Perth, Australia. However, ticket demand has been high, causing Abrams to add multiple dates to certain locations to meet the demand of fans. It would not be surprising if the tour was extended once again or if further dates were added to certain locations.
Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres Tour:
While the Music of the Spheres Tour has been going on since 2022, it is finally set to come to Boston in 2025, making it one of the most highly anticipated concerts in the Boston area. As Coldplay’s 8th tour thus far, the tour initially was meant to highlight the band’s newest two album releases: Music of the Spheres (2021) and Moon Music (2024). One of the most important aspects of this tour, particularly to the band members themselves, is the focus on a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions while on tour. The band is taking measures such as using a rechargeable show battery, planting trees for each ticket sold, and planning routes that reduce air travel carbon emissions. The tour has been highly successful, making immense revenue for Coldplay, but also breaking numerous attendance records. When American tour dates were released recently, it was only a matter of minutes before all initial tickets were sold.
