Dear CRLS,
Welcome back to school! Student Government is so excited to continue working with you all.
We hope your transition into school has been smooth and that you participated in Club Week! There are dozens of clubs at our school, so potentially, there is at least one that will interest you. Whether it be theater, dance, robotics, animal rescue, Club 4 volunteering, cultural affinity clubs, Student Government, or the Register Forum, clubs are a chance to explore your identity and find your community.
If you missed Club Week, do not fear. Simply contact a Student Government representative such as myself to get you connected. This year, Student Government hopes to foster school spirit and continue to promote a fun and welcoming environment that not only supports, but also furthers our academic learning.
For those who aren’t aware, Student Government hosts many school traditions such as Homecoming, Falcon Pride Day, Valentine’s Day Carnations, Talent Show, and the end-of-year Nest Fest celebration for our seniors that we cannot wait for you all to experience. Additionally, our class representatives are hard at work in creating fundraisers and bonding events geared to your grade such as senior prom! Oh yeah. Get ready seniors. I know I’m putting in my suit purchase soon, what about you?
We also hear your concerns regarding new phone practices! We hope to help smoothen this new transition by acting as a bridge of communication with administration. We do have direct student representation within CPSD’s school committee. If you have any questions or concerns regarding school or district policies, please kindly reach out to our representatives Urbana Barua and Hermela Shimelis.
For the freshmen, Student Government holds freshmen elections beginning in January. We still encourage you to stop by a meeting before then to see what it’s like!
And lastly, for the seniors: wow, break several legs y’all. Just kidding, don’t actually, but I can’t believe we made it this far since our post-COVID year. Our senior class representatives are working hard to create an amazing last year for us, so get hyped! If seniors have any questions, please refer to executives Yasmeen Abu-Rubieh and Nia Guerrero.
We’ll always be in room 2320 on Thursday mornings. We hope to see you all at the upcoming Homecoming Dance near the end of October and hope to see you, students and staff, participate in all of our fun spirit days (some even have prizes). If you ever have any questions, suggestions, or critiques, do not hesitate to reach out to me, our SGA representatives, or our advisor hard at work behind the scenes, Ms. Rachel Williams-Giordano.
Yours truly,
Student Body President Lee (Go Falcons!)
