This simple yet flavorful recipe for sweet potato fries is a great introduction to oven-baked potatoes and can be easily altered in any way desired. The short preparation time and minimal ingredients allow this recipe to be easily made anytime.
Ingredients:
3 medium-sized sweet potatoes
4 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt, or to taste
1 tsp pepper, or to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 450°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cut the sweet potatoes into ½-inch wedges. In a large bowl, toss them with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. If desired, add in any other seasonings you want on the sweet potatoes.
- Make sure each wedge is well coated in olive oil and seasoning.
- Place the sweet potato wedges skin side down on the prepared baking sheet, making sure not to put them too close together.
- Place one baking sheet on the lowest rack in the oven and the second baking sheet on the top rack in the oven.
- Bake the sweet potatoes until golden brown, about 35-40 minutes, switching the placement of the pans after 15 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5-10 minutes.
- Best enjoyed while still warm with your choice of dipping sauce!
