2021-2022 School Year Recap!
June 28, 2022
August 20: Start of the fall athletic season
September 9: First day of school for students in grades 1 through 12 attending Cambridge Public Schools. The doors of CRLS welcomed new and returning students. For many, it was their first time stepping into the school since the start of the pandemic as all remote learning options were no longer available.
October 4-8: Instead of a single day like past years, leaders of CRLS clubs were able to pitch themselves to students at tables set up at the entrance of the school during lunch for a week.
October 18-22: Marks the first in-person spirit week since 2020. The days included “Monochrome Monday,” “Twin Tuesday,” “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink,” “Jersey Thursday,” and “Falcon Friday.”
October 22: Winners for Homecoming Royalty for the junior and senior classes were announced. The senior class Homecoming Royalties were Pratyush Venkatakrishnan and Shadnan Asraf, and the junior class winners were Nico Rimer and Farah Coplon-Newfield.
November 25: End of the fall athletic season.
November 30: Over 500 students walked out of classes and gathered at the main entrance to raise awareness about sexual assault. Students shared their stories and criticized the school administration’s failure to act on reported incidents.
December: CRLS theater productions performed “The Skin of Our Teeth,” the first play since March of 2020. Other in-person performing art shows returned, like the winter A Cappella Jam.
March 14: Students were given the option to go maskless indoors.
March 21: Start of the spring athletic season.
April 14: Talent show held at the Fitzgerald Theatre.
April 29: Spring Benefit A Cappella Jam held at 7 PM in the Fitzgerald Theatre.
May 29: Both CRLS boys and girls crew teams won the state championship, with the girls team moving to Youth National Championships in Sarasota, Florida on June 9th-12th.
June 3: Last day of classes for seniors at CRLS. Students could also enjoy festivities at Nest Fest during third period.
June 7: Student Government election results announced. The Senior Prom was also held at the Science Museum private patio in Boston from 7 to 11 pm.
June 9: Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2022 was held at Russell Field.
