Apple Bundt Cake

This unique recipe combines apples and cinnamon for a bite that will melt in your mouth. With the addition of caramel, the sweet perfectly compliments the spice of the cinnamon. This recipe is perfect for sharing with friends and family!

 

Ingredients:

Cake:

2 cups granulated sugar

1½ cups vegetable oil

2 tsp vanilla extract

3 large eggs, room temperature

3 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

2 tsp cinnamon

1 ½ tsp salt

3 medium apples, peeled, cored. and chopped

 

Caramel sauce:

½ cup (1 stick) butter

2 tsp heavy cream

½ cup brown sugar (packed)

1 tsp vanilla extract

 

Instructions:

Cake:

Preheat the oven to 325°F and grease a 9-inch bundt pan.

In a large bowl, beat the sugar, oil, vanilla, and eggs with a mixer or whisk until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt, in a separate bowl then stir into the batter until both are just blended.

Fold in the apples, then pour them into the prepared bundt pan.

Bake for 55-70 minutes or until an inserted toothpick (or knife) comes out clean.

Allow to cool for about 20 minutes in the pan and then invert onto a wire rack.

 

Caramel sauce:

Heat the butter, heavy cream, and brown sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Bring the saucepan to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar, then remove it from the heat.

Add in vanilla and stir until combined. Let sit for 5-10 minutes to thicken.

Drizzle over the warm cake!
