Mosquito Poem
Performed best when read with an increasingly dramatized voice, with frequent and intense glances at the listener
Blinding light, tumbling air
Blue above, beige below
Round
And round we go.
We were all going–hurtling
To where, I don’t know
Then I see it–
Heat waves dance off skin
Swirling twirling
Rushing with joy! –I reach
And land
I go in for a snack
Then
SMACK!– Black
And the sound of “yessss” in my ear
Then I was gone
And so it was, a bug’s life–
Done.
