Pro-Seltzer

Let’s face the facts: as living beings, we have to drink water every day in order to survive. But drinking the same thing day after day is bound to get boring, especially when you have lived over 6,000 days like I have. What if I told you that there’s a solution to this dilemma?

The answer is seltzer. Often called “the remix to water,” seltzer brings those same refreshing notes while amping up the fun. When you come home after a long day and you want to enjoy a nice beverage, seltzer is the way to go. I think everyone can agree that water is the most effective thirst-quenching beverage in the world, but if you are just feeling a little thirsty and want to drink something more interesting, seltzer is perfect.

In my eyes, there are two categories when it comes to picking a drink: health and taste. Seltzer is the best of both these worlds. In terms of health, it is right up there with water, the healthiest drink on the planet. Now let’s look at the taste factor: I’ll be the first to admit that seltzer does not provide the same satisfaction that a sugary soda does. But when you take a step back and think about how bad soda is for you, that sugary taste goes a little sour.

There are thousands of varieties of seltzer, and you could spend a lifetime trying to taste them all. Head out to any local store, buy a 12-pack for minimal money, pop them in your fridge, and boom: cold, bubbly satisfaction at any time. Even as I write this, I am drinking a nice raspberry-lime seltzer—and it tastes brilliant.
